Renewal Dates & Payment Windows
The end of the payment window is defined as the end of the month of the anniversary of the filing date. The payment window opens three months before.
For an additional penalty charge of €100, renewal fees can be paid up to six months after the renewal date.
As usual, if the original application was made through the European Patent Office (EPO), fees are not due to each of the country offices until after grant. During the application stage, fees are paid to the EPO only.
